Data Center in Portland, Oregon

Location
- The opus:interactive data center is located just two blocks off I-405 in our second-floor converted warehouse space in the Northwest neighborhood of Portland, Oregon.
Security
- Offices are secured by a card-access security system. Additionally, the data center has its own card-access which allows entrance only to network administrators and co-location customers. A broadband connected CCTV monitoring and recording system captures all motion events in the data center. Movement detected after business hours triggers alphanumeric paging to the data center staff who can respond by viewing live video via web.
Network Equipment
- opus:interactive uses only the best equipment in our data center. Vendor service agreements allow us to quickly respond to malfunctioning equipment. In most cases, there is backup equipment (cold spares and hot spares) on-site for emergency-down situations. Network equipment vendors include Cisco Systems, Lucent, Intel�, APC, IBM, HP, and Fujitsu.
Telco Service/Bandwidth
- The opus:interactive data center is served by three telcos providing separate fiber entrances.

Internet Connection Redundancy
- opus:interactive uses two Internet backbone providers in a multi-homed architecture, using the BGP protocol to determine fastest Internet routes. If a provider becomes unavailable, the other takes the traffic until capacity is restored. This redundancy ensures very high network availability. Additonally, Hot Swap Router Protocol (HSRP) is used on the core routers to provide equipment failover.
Power Redundancy
- Redundant and conditioned power is provided through use of a UPS and on-site backup power generator.
